A proportioned 16x9 resolution that is somewhat matched to the “Video Bit Rate” is recommended.     Resolution 1280x720     Bit Rate: 1200-1400kbps – Viewer requires high bandwidth     Resolution 800x480       Bit Rate: 900kbps – Good quality, easy bandwidth     Resolution 640x360       Bit Rate: 700kbps – Lower quality easily on the bandwidth Avoid using resolutions larger than these. Larger resolutions will be accepted but require additional upload and processing time. Your final image quality will not be improved with the larger resolution. OR A proportioned 4x3 resolution can be used. Be sure it is matched to the “Video Bit Rate”. Your video will be “letterboxed” (black bars on left and right sides).     Resolution 1200x900     Bit Rate: 1200-1400kbps – Viewer requires high bandwidth     Resolution 800x600       Bit Rate: Bit Rate: 700-900kbps – Good quality, easy bandwidth     Resolution 480x360       Bit Rate: 500-700kbps – Lower quality easily on the bandwidth Larger resolutions will be accepted but require additional upload and processing time. You final image quality will not be improved with the larger resolution.
Today’s internet users typically have fairly robust internet connections with good throughput. Rule of Thumb – “Match the Width”, set your video bit rate to close to what the width of your resolution is, particularly if you use a larger resolution. The larger “window” requires more video bits to fill it up. Using too few results in “blocky” images. Too many, is a waste of bandwidth and storage.

Image edges within your video may be smoother if you have “deinterlace” enabled.
Audio
AAC is required for mobile devices to view your assets. Most other formats will be converted to AAC after upload. AAC is required for playback on Apple iOS (iPad/iPod/iPhone) 56-64kbps, 44,100hz sampling rate If you encode to these specifications, you can “Bypass Transcode” as an option on the Eduvision Upload screen and retain the quality of your upload. If you don’t have “Bypass Transcode” as an option after you select the mp4 file, please contact your Eduvision support group to have that added to your user account.
